Drama comes in all forms, shapes and sizes. Sometimes it knocks you down to your knees. Sometimes it makes you stronger to then be able to accomplish anything. It comes our way through Mother Nature when she devastates small communities with her wrath of a tornado or hurricane. Or maybe when a predator becomes pray. Even so when people create drama for themselves or others. Drama is a crazy thing.
I as a photographer have taken quite a few drama filled photographs. Some of wonderment and surprise. Happy, sad, confusion, strength, courage, and everything in between. The one thing I have learned through all of this crazy drama, is for me, it has made me stronger. Unfortunately, it has also made me guarded.
When these drama filled moments come into your life, you see who cares enough to help and stick it out with you. They are standing right beside you every step of the way. But there is also the loss and heart break to see the ones who walk away. This community of Union Beach I am so proud to call home is an amazing show of sticking together. Of over coming all the odds!
Going through Hurricane Sandy where in Union Beach it was a devastation, it has taught me a lot. It has shown me the drama of tears in kindness, love and heart break. Courage that my community has had to hold dear. As we come to the one year anniversary of this drama...we will never forget...but we will and do get stronger every single day.
Lastly, I now hold even more dear to my heart my family. I am so very proud of my mother, husband and children for getting through this very rough year. Since we have gone through this, we know we can get through anything...as long as we do it together! I am truly blessed for those I have in my life.
